I’ve been following up on the story all weekend. I’ve gotten emails and Facebook messages from people who say they have connections. Also from viewers expressing their thoughts about this atrocity.
Today, I followed up on the streets. I’d like Dartanyan to give me a call. So I paid a visit to his mother’s apartment in Queens, the scene of the slashing. She wasn’t home. I ran into her boyfriend there. He claims he hasn’t seen her in two days. But that’s about all he told me.
MIRIAM KINGSBERRY: “There’s always two sides to every story. It’s gonna be her side, his side and there’s gonna be the truth. Nobody’s ever gonna understand the truth or know the truth. Not me, not you. The only person that’s gonna know the truth is them two.”
HOWARD: “I think 2-thousand 700 stiches speaks volumes for what happened and what his intent was.”
MIRIAM: “Well if that’s what you believe everybody has their right to their own opinion.”
HOWARD: “Let me ask you this, do you have any idea where Dartanyan is?”
MIRIAM: “I don’t have the slightest idea.”
HOWARD: “If you could get a message to your brother right now what would you tell him?”
MIRIAM: I would tell him he has to do what he has to do. Turn his self in because that’s the best way to get his side of the story. I’m not saying he wasn’t wrong. He knows his actions.”
